{pretty, happy, funny, real} - Easter!

Linking up again with Like Mother, Like Daughter for {pretty, happy, funny, real}...

{pretty}

Pretty doesn't begin to describe the sight on Easter morning when we woke up on St. George Island where we spent the long weekend. Joseph and I were married just down the road in Apalachicola on the Forgotten Coast of the Florida panhandle. It was special for us to attend Easter morning mass at St. Patrick's where we were married seven years ago. The kids loved walking around the old church and pointing out the saints they knew and asking about the ones that weren't as familiar. It all came to an abrupt end when one of the votive candles shattered at the front of the church and Genevieve grabbed a piece of hot glass off the floor before she could be intercepted. You could hear her screaming from a few blocks over, I'm sure of it.

{happy}

Doesn't ice cream make everyone happy? I know it puts a smile on the faces of my three little ones...

Aniston is even trying to kiss her way to a spoonful of Ander's ice cream.

Supposedly the flavor is vanilla, but the color is purple. Genevieve wouldn't let anyone near it to find out, so we'll just have to take the store's word for it.

What makes me happy though is that the entire series of happiness presented in these photos was brought to you for a total of $2.15. Applebee's has these sweet $1 desserts which we let the boys enjoy and Bruster's Ice Cream offers baby cones for free to children 2 and under!

{funny}

On the subject of good deals, we have an Earth Fare store right around the corner from our house. They have family night once a week, during which kids eat free as long as you purchase $5 worth of regular items from the deli. There's something ridiculous about 6 kids free per paying adult with a $5 purchase. How awesome is that?! Plus, they have a face painter. Miles' teeth got some paint on them, doesn't he look ferocious?

Ander's gonna knock you out! When he got this face paint on, he was like a different kid, it made me think I should sign him up for drama classes.

My children LOVE Peter Pan, and many parts of the story make their way into how they play and communicate with each other (and sometimes Joseph and me). I was so tickled to come across this photo from Easter weekend where Ander is pushing Genevieve in the swing while playfully looking at his shadow. I know he was daydreaming about being a lost boy. :)

{real}

Keepin' it real—Christmas pajamas on Easter. Oh yeah!

How can one properly rejoice without a new water gun?

Happy Easter! Forty days of fasting, now 50 days of glory!

  1. Your sweet spider-man looks ready to fight crime, as long as it doesn't interfere with nap time :) Precious!
